At Element Shop we offer a range of floor & wall primers that are generally used for underfloor heating projects. However, they can be used on all types of projects that require primers such as garage floors.
Primers are used when preparing your floor and wall surface prior to the application of levelling compounds. They penetrate the substrate and allows your compound to bond with a stronger link to your substrate. Ultimately, it gives you a better floor finish and extends to life of your floor.
At element shop we offer primers that can be used for many floor projects, although they are specifically suited to underfloor heating installations. This includes both wet and dry installs. With products from BAL and Ultra Tile, both world renowned leaders in floor and wall primers, your project is in safe hands.
Our range
BAL Primer Prime APD is a modified acrylic polymer dispersion which has the ability to isolate any products that contains calcium sulphate. This includes products such as Gypsum plaster, anhydrite screeds, and cement-based adhesives. All of which may contain calcium sulphate. The core feature of this floor tile primer is that it will minimise the risk of reaction between the two materials. This then provides and increased surface strength to friable surfaces. Another feature of this is that it helps to reduce surface porosity. This prevents air bubbles forming which slows the flow time of levelling compounds whilst at the same time extending the open time of tile adhesives.
Ultra ProPrimer is a moisture tolerant, water based acrylic drywall primer, sealer, and bonding aid all rolled up into one. It is suitable for porous surfaces and non-porous substrates and can be used on floors and wall. It is an advanced polymer primer for plaster walls which is used when a need for exceptional bonding to multiple substrates. This can be used with a range of materials including concrete, screed, plywood, tile backer boards, wooden floors and much more. If the project requires more than one coat, it is recommended that the previous coat should be completely dry first. However, In good weather conditions this should be in 1-2 hours. Do not apply a second coat if the first is only touch dry.
